This study investigated the influence of occupational stress on teachers’ job performance in secondary schools in Zone ‘A’ Senatorial District of Benue State, Nigeria. Five (5) research questions and five (5) research hypotheses guided the study. The literature review which was done under conceptual framework, empirical studies and summary identified the influence of occupational stress on the teachers’ job performance in secondary schools. The population of this study comprised 1,972 teachers from 86 grant-aided secondary schools in Zone ‘A’ Senatorial District of Benue State, Nigeria. A sample of 296 teachers from 13 secondary schools was used for the study. A 25–items structured four point rating scale questionnaire constructed by the researcher titled “Occupational Stress and Teachers’ Job performance Questionnaire (OSTJPQ)” was used for collection of data for the study. Data obtained for the study were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Means and Standard Deviations were used in answering the research questions.
