Gulewamkulu and Community Development in Malawi

The book is about the Gulewamkulu secret society which take different social and traditional religious roles in the Chewa society of Malawi. The Gulewamkulu plays significant roles in the socio- economic, cultural and political development.This traditional institution is involved in community development activities taking place in the society.The coming western development with its modernization theory, disregarded Gulewamkulu and prohibit it in any form of development.
