Now a days we can easily find that the industries are moving into the use of more renewable energy. The use of non-renewable energy not only cause wastage of energy but also cause pollution. For example, if we use coal to run the industry it will create pollution of air and also it will also make the probability of coal to be found in future low as it takes millions of years to form. So, we should give more importance to use energy generated from wind, solar, hydra, waves and other energy that does not end easily or is replaced by nature. The thesis demonstrates the operation of a solar based standalone power system with battery storage capabilities. Stochastic nature of solar energy and abrupt nature of load demand requires an optimal power management technique to ensure the efficiency of the system. The reliability of the system can be predicted by its ability to maintain power balance between the system components while fulfilling the desired performance criteria.
