Dental professionals have employed platelet concentrations for a range of purposes. Many studies have been conducted to assess the efficacy of PRF in a range of procedures, including oral surgery, dental implants, and periodontics, with encouraging and promising outcomes in the regeneration of both soft and hard tissue. The process of reconstructing or replicating a damaged or destroyed portion to restore the periodontium's structure and functionality is known as periodontal regeneration. Regenerating the lost periodontal tissues brought on by periodontitis is the ultimate goal of periodontal therapy. Growth factor delivery in a localised setting is crucial as a supplement to bone transplants for full regeneration. Third-generation platelet concentrate, injectable platelet rich fibrin (i-PRF), is made of liquid platelet concentrate that has been centrifuged at a lower speed for a shorter period of time, resulting in a higher long-term release rate of different growth factors, easier manipulation, and superior healing properties. i-PRF would be clinically and financially beneficial to utilise in periodontal regeneration operations, and it wouldn't cause any antigenicity.
