The research titled “Application of Public Relations in Promoting the Image of Benue State University, Makurdi-Nigeria” evaluates the effectiveness of public relations activities in enhancing the university’s image. The study investigates whether the university’s public relations units are functional and examines the specific activities undertaken to promote the institution's reputation. It also assesses the impact of these activities on the university’s image, particularly in terms of fostering a positive perception among stakeholders. Through a survey method, the study collects data from students and analyzes it to determine the effectiveness of public relations in improving the university's public image. The findings reveal that while the public relations activities have been effective to some extent, there are challenges such as misinformation and inadequate communication that need to be addressed. The study concludes with recommendations for improving public relations practices at Benue State University to further enhance its image.
