Issues and Themes of African Literature: New Insights and Arguments

Dr. Udunna Nwafor-Orizu has opened the can of controversies that attended African Literature which today's young experts in the field have chosen to avoid. She argues that the danger involved in this silence is that African Literature has failed to gain from the advantages that well-pursued arguments and counter arguments would have afforded it. The consequence is that we are yet not agreed on what constitutes African Literature. Based on this understanding, Nwafor-Orizu crafts her latest book as an instrument of re-engaging scholars of African Literature on productive debates.
