An Open Service Architecture For Next Generation Mobile Devices

Mobile services extend the versatility of mobile devices for purposes such as language translation, health monitoring, ride sharing etc. However, the solution is not to overload devices with "apps" as is currently done now. This book reviews the state of the art in technologies for mobile services, provides a classification of these services, discusses different options for service delivery and finally introduces an open, vendor independent architecture that enables services to be dispensed.
