Understanding Basic Principles of Curriculum and Instruction

It is possible to argue that as a field of research and scientific study the history of curriculum derives its identity and roots form three different but interrelated areas of education: the history of education, the field of curriculum studies, and the sociology of education and knowledge. In analyzing contributions to the history of curriculum it is possible to identify differences in the nature of the studies according to prevailing perspectives and theoretical and ideological frameworks.
