Discipline is not a fixed idea rather a fluid and relative concept. It may have different meaning and different purposes that guide certain strategies for maintaining discipline in the school context. Furthermore, principals’ approaches and practices of the school discipline are guided and shaped by their personal experiences as a child at school as well as at home, and the socio-economic and cultural background of the communities within which their schools operate.
