Mushroom are fleshy edible fungi which are saprophytic in nature. Currently due to increase in world population human must be provide their food from different ways. Edible mushroom have also become an important constituent of a healthy diet. Their nutritional value relies on relatively high protein, minerals, vitamins and essential amino acid content. More ever edible mushroom has low calories. Agaricus bisporus is commonly known as white button mushroom which is most popular variety grown and consumed all over the world. The four main steps involved in mushroom cultivation viz. composting, conditioning, spawning and casing. Compost colonized with mushroom mycelium is covered with a 3-5 cm thick casing layer, which is nutritionally deficient medium to initiate the development of sporophores. The research experiment was carried out to investigate different cereals grain for good quality spawn and casing materials for enhancing better growth behaviour and yield potential of button mushrooms.
