The main purpose for this study was to determine the efficacy of Laser therapy when used as an adjunct to various self-management topical approaches among people presenting with acne vulgaris. An evolving understanding of laser-tissue interactions involving Propionibacterium acnes-produced porphyrins, and the development of infrared non-ablative lasers to target sebaceous glands, has lead to innovations in phototherapy devices for acne. Several trials ranging from sole to combined or adjunct therapy can be found in the literature but there was no consensus among researchers on its efficacy. Report ranges from 81% clearance to limited or no significant benefit when Laser is used as a monotherapy for acne. The present researcher employed a non-blinded controlled trial. A total of 35 students of University of Nigeria Enugu Campus presenting with facial acne were selected through quota sampling across the faculties. Subjects were randomly classified into trial group (n=15) and control group (n=20).
