Auctions sell Russian art for millions of dollars, witnessing every year a tremendous increase in the amount of potential buyers. The situation at the market for Russian art is surprising, however it was completely different merely a decade ago. Unfortunately, there is almost no academic literature that could shed some light on this subject in the history of Russian art.
