The book deals with socio-economic and political changes within the society over a number of years have also been treated in depth. The study attempts to explore Oromo settlement in the area and development of the kingdom of Iluu Abbaa Booraa. It discusses the process of the conquest and incorporation of Iluu Abbaa Booraa into the modern Ethiopian Empire and the crucial political, economic and social changes that followed the event. The conquests brought abut significant socio-economic and political transformations with far reaching consequences for the indigenous society. The book reveals several points of paramount importance. It access the measurement of land into gashas and how land in Iluu Abbaa Booraa was concentrated in the hands of a few government officials and traders. It discusses the condition of peasants and land tenure system in Iluu Abbaa Booraa between 1941 to 1974. It also deals with the socio-political order in Iluu Abbaa Booraa from 1974 to 1991.
