The Enhancement of community interpretation in Cameroon

Interpretation is an age old skill which describes the art of getting a verbal message across a multilingual audience. An interpreter plays the indispensable role of a language bridge to ensure effective and efficient communication amongst people with different origins, cultures and beliefs. Community interpretation like any other deserves the same acclaimation as conference interpretation in the world at large and in Cameroon in particular. Done by trained and untrained persons usually in informal and pressing situations, there is need to enhance such communication method which is very prominent in the community This work presents a snap shot of what community interpretation is and is not, how it done in Cameroon and of course how it can be improved upon in the world at large and in Cameroon in particular.
