Geographies of Community Support and Reciprocal Network Legacies:

This book is presenting the impacted and up-to-date research findings and demonstrated models reviewed from the extant body of literature, mainly on social networks, social vulnerability to disasters and social capital applications. In addition to that this work is bringing readers to a sophisticated community-level flood disaster management armature especially aiming at to bridge some gaps in the existing body of literature on flood disaster management discourse. More importantly, community participation in the disaster risk reduction (DRR) context has been come to the fore, mainly due to two considerations. On the one hand, this warrants for vulnerable communities, groups of people, and individuals who have been living with severe disasters. This is because the community participation in the DRR process is paramount important. More importantly, social support/reciprocal networks and related social capital metaphors on DRR has been played a cardinal role basically, not only in revivifying the livelihoods of disaster victims, but also securing and bringing back better of the life exitances of vulnerable people and communities.
