Dental caries is a multi factorial disease including diet, microorganisms, oral hygiene, life style, education, income and consumption of water, varying degree of fluoride concentration in drinking water has beneficial effect on dental caries up to the extent of 60%-70%, on the other hand the excessive uninterrupted intake of fluoride for longer duration can have deleterious effect on teeth and bones which causes dental and skeletal fluorosis. In the present study the collected data was retrieved, presented and were amenable to statistical analysis for the prevalence of dental caries and dental fluorosis and their relation at varying degree of fluoride concentration in drinking water. It was observed that number of children affected with dental caries decreases with the increase in concentration of level of fluoride in drinking water and the number of children affected with dental Fluorosis increases with the increase in level of concentration of fluoride in drinking water. The results of the study indicated that both dental caries and dental fluorosis excited together irrespective of levels of fluoride concentration in drinking water.
