A field experiment was conducted in lateritic soil on the farm of Department of Agronomy, from the year 1996-97. The seven treatments comprising T1-control, T2-recommended dose of fertilizers, T3-Poultry manure, T4-FYM, T5-Vermicompost, T6-Glyricidia and T7-Urban compost were replicated thrice in Randomised Block Design. Dose of manure was equivalent to 0.75 kg N/tree. The results revealed that the maximum yield of mango (77.05 kg/tree) was in the treatment T5. Among the quality parameters of mango pulp maximum T.S.S., reducing sugar and total sugar were noted in the T6 followed by T4 and T5. The fruit yield of mango showed significantly positive correlation with Org.Carbon and avail. N, P2O5 and K2O. The quality parameters of fruits such as T.S.S., reducing sugar, total sugar are significantly and positively correlated only with Org. Carbon and unidentified non-hydrolysable N. The reducing sugar content showed significant and positive correlation with only non-exchangeable K. There were significantly positive correlations of avail. N with NO3-N, hexosamine N, amino acid N and unidentified non-hydrolysable N. Avail. P2O5 was significantly positive correlated with all P Fractions
