Meat and milk products authentication is very important for everybody in the world to avoid the adulteration, especially after the spread of processed and fast-foods. So, molecular genetic techniques e.g. PCR and PCR-RFLP were developed and used for fast, sensitive and effective detection of adulteration and identification of species-specific meat and milk products. However, through this elegant work we could, and you can too (of course, through the nearest specialized laboratory), identify species-specific meat products for buffalo, camel, cat, cattle, dog, donkey, goat, horse, pig and sheep, in addition to poultry (chicken, duck, quail, rabbit and turkey) meat products. Also, species-specific milk products were identified for buffalo, camel, cattle, goat and sheep.
