Swine’s immunology and immunostimulating effects of beta-glucans

Alternative ingredients such additives have been suggested in piglet's diet, aiming at overcoming the problems associated with post-weaning. Among them, beta-glucan is highlighted, which has action in immune system modulation by improving cellular responsiveness of non-specific defense system and for stimulating the primary and secondary lymphoid organs, increasing macrophages activity, and contributing to strengthening of immune system in a situation of increased health challenge.
