Foundation on Coal Measure Rocks: Bearing Capacity and Settlement

This book features mainly the bearing strength characteristics of floor strata under the loads of overlying rock mass with case studies. The main contained of the book is concerned with the methodology and results obtained through experimental and FEM analysis of stability (mainly bearing strength and settlement) of foundation under a footing on regularly bedded, jointed and layered model rock mass. A simple method to estimate bearing strength of both intact and jointed rock mass under circular, square and rectangular footings is proposed in the book.
