Merleau-Ponty and Melancholia

This study is presented in two interdependent parts. Part one, which is the bulk of the study, consists in presenting an ‘analytic'' account of the phenomenology of the body-subject and lived-time together with a psychopathology of the category of lived-time as experienced by melancholic persons.In part two the conceptual framework developed in part one will be used to describe one aspect of melancholic suffering, namely: restructured temporality.
