Environmental problems are common all around world; however, environmentalism differently dispersed. Environmental attitudes were measured as components and indicators of environmentalism this book. The findings indicated that pro-environmental attitudes with three dimensions vary across countries. However, content of environmental values are different for each country. The dimensions of environmental attitudes are differently affected by social and individual characteristics. This study supports two theoretical perspectives; the social constructionist perspective and the post-materialism thesis. Environmental attitudes (environmentalism) socially constructed and each country has its own environmentalism structure. Additionally, the effects of individual demographic characteristics on the each dimension of environmental attitudes are different. Individuals who have lower education, older and non-urban residents have anthropocentric form of environmentalism as materialist value. However, individuals who have higher education level, younger, and urban residents have ecocentric form of environmentalism as post-materialist value.
