The dictionary of English-Uzbek proverbs

Translation of phraseological units is topical for contemporary translatology nowadays. The most distinctive feature of the phraseological unit is its emotional expressiveness and conciseness of thought expression. Defining phraseological units in the text and the ability to find an equivalent to it during the translation process is the most important stage for the translator. In order to translate a phraseological unit, the translator should use phraseological dictionaries and context play an important role during the translation process. As a type of phraseological unit – Proverbs are crucial components of people's speech because they are fixed expressions that have meanings that cover all aspects of life. It should be noted that Proverbs reflect the culture and the national mentality of a definite nation. Due to this reason, the translation of proverbs is one of the topical issues for contemporary translatology.
