The term “child abuse” depicts not only the misuse of the child, but the “intentional abuse of the child thereby besetting his physical and emotional well-being which has led to the child’s dehumanization and marginalization and negation.Factors that are associated with child abuse among others includes making them to overwork on different domestic activities, such as street hawking and denial of adequate rest, lack of food, education, lack of medical care imposed on children. The sociological approach strategy for remedial treatment and prevention would be expected to focus on proffered solutions of broad spectrum of services involving the community groups and families, social service agencies, schools and other stake holders and concerned citizenry. Women who constitute the major segment of the society and a fulcrum around which the child is reared in the society must first be given equal rights with their men counterpart in all life’s endeavors. Therefore, women should have equal access to education, industrial training, equal wages for equal work, as well as moral standard of conduct as their men counterpart which is their fundamental rights in the society.
