State of Education and Globalization

Education has become pertinent in defining the state of nations. Since the collapse of the Berlin Wall, globalization has played a prominent role in determining the innovations and trends of development paradigm. The world is now becoming a global village, where people including those in the most remote parts of the world are increasingly interconnected. Globalization portrays a world that is borderless. Globalization therefore created the coming together of political, social, cultural, economic and religious factors driven by the development of information and communication technologies. It has increased interdependence and interconnectivity between different countries and cultures around the globe. Resonating with these concerns, the book “State of Education and Globalization” made a reflection on the impact and implications of teaching and learning processes and systems in development dynamics with special reference to the global south. The book is a collection of research papers from varied conceptual and policy perspectives. All in all, the book is a reference text for graduate students, educators and development specialists.
