Fostering resilience: The experience of Palestinian children

The Middle East has long been the site of numerous armed conflicts and wars. Many of these conflicts have extended into multiple years and even decades. Children and youth have been affected by this trauma and its consequences. For them exposure to violent events can result in mental, behavioral and emotional symptoms. The objective of this book is to provide an overview of the effects of war on children; and specifically to capture the daily experiences of children who live in a village next to an illegal Israeli settlement and the separation wall, engaged in a daily struggle against the Israeli military occupation. The book seeks to deepen the understanding of the effect of trauma on children who live in a violent environments through the exploration of their own thoughts and feelings. Best,
