In retirement, Jerry Hammersmith writes fiction and non-fiction. He holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of South Africa. This book offers a contribution to the struggle for Indigenous reclamation and renewal of knowledge systems, cultures and governance. Arguing that an Indigenous collaborative, multi-venue community model for tertiary education can be developed, Hammersmith sees the ‘ethical space'' in an Indigenous Multiversity as an optimal location for reaching out to all knowledges and worldviews. Starting in one community, the Multiversity could unite interdependent community-based institutions partnered with conventional, mainstream institutions, assuring access to Indigenous languages and worldviews as well as Western languages and worldviews.
