The Desert Locust is one of the major insect pests. They are the most dangerous of locust species in the world. The Desert Locust is the greatest threat of all locusts to humans and agriculture. As hopper bands and adult swarms can rapidly arise and migrate, they are potentially threatening food security in some 60 countries like Africa, the Middle East and Asia. If Desert Locust are unchecked, they play havoc with agricultural economy of a country.
