The indigenous people of Liberia had endured subjugation, slavery, oppression and a status of third class citizen in their own country for about 133 years under the ruler ship of the ex-slaves who came to Liberia from the Americas, Europe and other part of the world since the end of slave trading – 1807, bought land from the indigenous Liberians and settled among them. Sooner than expected or anticipated the ex-slaves began to colonize the natives, making them to farm for the returnees who ordinarily were supposed to be their tenants. This sad development continued for over 133 years until a native Master Sergeant, Samuel Doe of the Liberian army took over power in 1980 and attempted to put the Americo- Liberians in check by first executing 13 of their elites in a public sea side make – shift execution ground where the entire Monrovia populace were in attendance to witness the fall of an oppressive era in their history. The ex-slaves (Americo-Liberians) nursed their wounds afflicted by the native, presented by president Doe, silently while planning revenge mission.
