This book is the second part of a monographic study on eponymization, eponyms and eponymisms, which continues the description published in the volume Eponymization as a Key to Immortality (published by LAP Lambert in 2021). Eponyms have been frequently viewed as a comprehensive denominative category that also comprises metaphors, metonyms, toponyms and antonomasia. Nevertheless, they represent a well-delineated set of words that is characterized by a remarkable formal flexibility and an availability to coin new words. Their lexical versatility and morphological accessibility ensure their own individuality among the other onyms. This is a full size portrait of eponymisms which groups them in a wealth of taxonomies based on different semantic and lexical criteria. It also draws a parallel between eponymisms and their non-eponymal synonyms in a framework whose simple and coherent content intertwines linguistic knowledge with terminological expertise in an apology for the creation and use of eponymisms. This book will fascinate (graduate) students, researchers and all who have a passion for words and the life stories behind them.
